In the 1990s, CSD developed a specialism in computer aided design, since when it has been instrumental in developing software for the environmental professions.

In 1996 CSD conceived CS Artisan: a new computer aided landscape design software package. With its unique focus on delivering an intelligent, easy-to-use, data-rich CAD system, CS Artisan was an immediate and resounding success in the environmental market, both nationally and internationally.
